When we need an extra portion of energy in order to have time to do an urgent task or a lot of things in a short period of time, and at the same time feel cheerful, we can turn to caffeinated drinks, which we call energy drinks, for help.
From time immemorial, people have tried to help themselves with a “quick recharge”. Now there are energy drinks, they are quite safe and contain many healthy components. The only rule: they are advised to be consumed carefully, following certain norms.
It is worth paying attention to the advice of a nutritionist. Expert of the initiative “Consume Sensibly”, therapist, sports medicine doctor, nutritionist Alexander Kushch is well versed in how to properly manage energy, consume energy drinks and eat rationally. Now readers of the “Nash Kiev” edition can learn about this from his article of December 24.
The first thing to know is that the body functions correctly when it gets enough protein, fat and carbohydrates from food. That is why it is so important to eat well. But if it so happens that more energy is needed: there is no strength, or a great mental or physical activity is planned, it is quite acceptable to drink a cup of coffee or an energy drink. The main active ingredient in these drinks is caffeine. It stimulates the brain and nervous system. Also, energy drinks usually contain components such as guarana, taurine, glucuronolactone, B vitamins and vitamin complexes. All of these substances are natural and are often prescribed as dietary supplements.
As for the sugar in energy drinks – as a rule, its amount is equal to the amount of sugar in popular fruit drinks, and in some products its content is even higher (for example, in smoothies, yogurt, cocoa).
The principle of action of energy drinks is simple: the substances in their composition help the body to extract energy, while not being energy raw materials. Therefore, one must bear in mind: in order not to deplete the body, it is recommended to consume these drinks without fanaticism. In particular, you should not drink energy drinks “jar by jar”, on an empty stomach and before bedtime.
If you follow the advice of a nutritionist and adhere to the daily intake of caffeine, the use of energy drinks will absolutely not harm your health, but will only raise your tone and invigorate.
